Speck Italian Eatery

Speck is a gem of an Italian restaurant in downtown Cols. Modern decor with an industrial looking high ceiling. They are relatively small and very popular so be sure to make reservations. Ample street parking. The food and service is great. Highly recommend to try the fresh focaccia, any of their pasta dishes and of course their desserts.

Superb in every way. Highly recommend this place. Wonderful service, paired with phenomenal food, I really enjoyed my lunch here. The sausage ragu was perfect, and the salad really stood out as well. Do not forget the desserts either, as they were next level delicious. They are doing it right here, can't wait for a return to check out the dinner menu.

Speck lived up to the hype! Every dish we got tasted amazing, drinks were interesting and well thought out, the atmosphere was great! It’s not a signature cocktail, but the espresso martini is an amazing way to start off the meal. Definitely give a few apps a try as you won’t regret anything you buy. Our server was amazing as well! She was great at answering questions and timing out our meal. The tiramisu at first hits you like a ton of bricks, but then very quickly become my favorite!

A couple of early recommendations... Make a reservation if you want to be inside! If you opt for the outdoor seating there is no direct overhead protection so know fate may test you 😉 a bird decided to do a flyby and luckily it missed me and landed on the table... First visit was pleasant the location is pretty easy to find as long as you're fairly familiar with downtown and all its one ways. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was surprisingly 90 degrees in October so we sat outside. Warning its in the heart of High Street so being on the street can be noisy at times, but its also great people watching. For starter we got the foccacia. HIGHLY recommend 👌🏿 loaf was fresh, soft and delicious, only critiques is the salt crystals can make a few bites overly salty and the bottom couldve been a little crisper but minor issues. For drinks we tried the Garibaldi and One of the mocktails. I am.not sure what I expected of the Garibaldi but it was more bitter than expected, to put it simply its more blood orange flavored if thats your thing. Dinner we had the short rib and the milanese. SURPRISE ALERT.. the portions were much bigger than expected! The milanese was very good, the mustard sauce was a bit overpowering for me but it was cooked well and good. The short rib won the night as it was cooked well, delicious flavor and falling off the bone! Did try a few sides of potatoes which were good as well. No desert on this run, but def would come back and try again. Ambiance was nice, the staff was on point and the food was good.

Okay, WOW. I’d eat here every week if I could. A-MAZ-ING food. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe as my main course and Speck + Burrata as my appetizer. Both were 10/10 dishes. The flavors of the food are rich & authentic, nestled into the cutest, most beautiful restaurant. It’s a fresh, unique, modern take. Great service and decent prices for the quality of food you get!

We went for Valentine’s Day dinner and had an amazing time. Staff was friendly, environment was great, and food and drinks were delicious! Definitely pricey but we knew that going into it. We had the focaccia and wings as a starter, shared the scallop risotto as our main, and then split the bone marrow pasta. Lastly the dessert special was deconstructed cheesecake which was small but tasty! Overall we recommend everything we had and would definitely go back to try the other menu items.
